What does membership cost and how is the money spent?

Our annual dues for new and renewing members are just $80 a year – the equivalent of only $7 a month.  Membership dues help to cover all or some of the costs of PRAM’s social events, holiday parties, kids’ programs, art supplies, and more.  Dues also help to pay for the operating and maintenance costs of the PRAM Fieldhouse, Garden and Playground.
 

How do I join?

Go to our membership page to sign up. You will be taken to Paypal to submit the payment and then sent back to our site to review your profile.

I’d like to make a donation in addition to paying my membership dues.  How can I do that?

We appreciate your generosity!  If you can afford to make a small donation in addition to paying your dues, it helps us continue to offer free memberships to those who can’t afford to pay and to support PRAM’s many great activities. You can donate through paypal by clicking here, or with a personal check.

I can’t afford to pay the annual dues.  Can I still join? 

OK!  PRAM strives to welcome and serve all parents with young children living in the greater Richmond area. We offer a monthly membership option for $7 per month.  If you can’t afford to pay the annual dues or monthly dues, please contact the membership coordinator directly to find an alternative: membership@pram.net

Are there specific income requirements for determining if a member can afford to pay?

We don’t have “income eligibility” requirements; approvals for memberships where a family is unable to pay are made on a case-by-case basis. Please keep in mind that PRAM is run entirely by volunteers and has a small budget.  We depend on membership dues to run our programs and provide this amazing community resource to Richmond-area families, so if you can afford the annual membership dues, it’s a great way to show your support!  We happily waive fees for those with limited financial resources.

How can I get more involved in PRAM?

PRAM can always use volunteers - to water the garden, serve on the board, hang party decorations, teach classes, etc.!  Let us know how you’re interested in helping out when you complete your membership registration or email prampresident@gmail.com for volunteer opportunities.

How long is my membership good for?

PRAM membership is for a full year, from the date you join.

Can I pay by check?

We encourage you to pay with a credit card or PayPal, both of which you can do online through our registration process.  However, we can accept annual dues payments via personal check.  Please email membership@pram.net to set up your membership and for information about where to send your check.

How do I renew my membership?

If you signed up through the website, your subscription will automatically renew. If you joined using a check, you will receive a notice that your membership is coming to the end of its year and a reminder to pay your annual dues.

My child is too old for PRAM classes and playgroups. Can we still participate in PRAM in some way?

Yes! We’re always looking for babysitters during Parents Night Out events, and Big Kid Assistants (facepainters, photobooth photographers, etc.) at various other events. We offer alumni memberships for just $10 per year. Visit the membership page to sign up.
